  • It begins on the old Cumbayá railway line towards the Guayllabamba river basin.

  • Ascent to the Mojanda Lagoon , at over 3,600 m altitude, with views of the Fuya Fuya volcano.

  • Descent and crossing of the Piganta Canal.

  • I pass by the Cuicocha crater lagoon and descend via the Machetes trail, arriving at the Intag Valley.

  • Ascent to the Piñán community sector, within the Cotacachi-Cayapas Reserve.

  • Arrival at Cotacachi Central Park

A bikepacking race is a long-distance cycling race in a self-sufficient format, where participants must carry everything necessary to complete the route on their bicycle, without receiving direct external assistance (neither support vehicles, nor supply points organized by the race).

The Yaku 300 & 190 Bikepacking Race returns after two years to offer one of the most spectacular routes in the Ecuadorian Andes. With distances of 300 km and 190 km , both routes start at Tienda Setecientos and finish in Cotacachi's central park.

Effective distance: ±310 km for the long route.

Format : single-stage, self-contained race.

Altimetry profile: continuous ascents over mixed terrain, including stretches of asphalt between mountains and technical descents.

Terrain: combination of dirt roads, moorland trails.

Cost: $79 Individual category

$99 couples category

All participants will carry an InReach device for satellite tracking during the route.
